Abstract

We have used the broad-host-range conjugative suicide plasmid vector described by Sasakawa and Yoshikawa [Gene 56 (1987) 283–288] for transposon mutagenesis of Serratia marcescens 274. We report multiple transposition events of Tn5 from this vector. In addition, the unusual pattern of Tn5 transposition might provide an insight into its regulation.
