Abstract

In Chapter 7 we discussed multiple discrete random variables. We now proceed to parallel that discussion for multiple continuous random variables. We will consider in this chapter only the case of two random variables, also called bivariate random variables, with the extension to any number of continuous random variables to be presented in Chapter 14. In describing bivariate discrete random variables, we used the example of height and weight of a college student.
