Abstract

Multiple-cell models of lumped elements (LEs) and ports for incorporation into frequency domain vector finite element method (VFEM) are described. The geometrical model of these objects is defined as a straight line or rectangle, containing an arbitrary number of finite element (FE) edges or faces, and an electric circuit model as a parallel or series resistor, inductor, capacitor (RLC) network. The proposed algorithm for incorporating LEs into the FE mesh preserves global matrix symmetry and is compatible with model order-reduction (MOR) techniques. The algorithm imposes no limitations on the number of LEs and ports. Numerical results confirm high accuracy and efficiency of the presented algorithm.
