Abstract
The subject of solitary and multiple biliary enteric fistulas is reviewed with emphasis on multiple fistulas. A study of case material over a thirty-three year period at the Presbyterian Hospital, New York, revealed twenty-six spontaneous biliary enteric fistulas in over 12,000 biliary tract operations. The incidence and distribution of these connections are similar to those recorded in the literature with cholecystoduodenal, cholecystocolic, and cholecystogastric fistulas being most frequently encountered. Three cases of multiple biliary enteric connections are presented, and the management of these complex lesions is discussed.
