Abstract

The main advantages of the interleaved multiphase DC-DC converters over single-phase converters are reduced current stress and reduced output current ripple. However, inductor current ripple can not be reduced only by interleaving method. The integrated magnetic structure can be used to solve this problem and this also allows to achieve higher power density. In this paper application of combination of the 2-phase directly coupled inductor and 2-phase inversely coupled inductor is analyzed to developed 4-phase interleaved DC-DC converter and compared with using of separate auxiliary inductor. The prototype of the converter has been built. The experimental results of the current ripple are presented in the paper.
