Abstract
How to select a proper access gateway from the several gateways of a wireless mesh networks(WMN) to connect to the Internet is one of the critical technologies which can improve the performances of WMN. A multi-path multi-gateway WMN anycast routing protocol based on an ant colony optimization (MMAMBA) was presented. In this protocol, gateway selection was taken as an anycast service, the distributed computing and heuristic searching of ant colony algorithm were used, the wireless mobile Ad hoc routing protocol AOMDV(Ad hoc on-demand multipath distance vector routing) was combined and the cross-layer parameters were taken into account. The simulation results show that the anycast of multi-gateway WMN is solved adaptively through MMAMBA by using the parameter optimization based on the network information collected by ants, the performances of WMN as an access network to Internet are improved effectively.
