Abstract

The optical and electrochemical properties of a dithiophene crown ether derivative containing vinylpyridine and vinyltetrathiafulvalene fragments have been examined. The combination of an extended chromophoric system and tetrathiafulvalene in a sensor molecule provides both optical and electrochemical responses upon complex formation.
