Abstract
Multipactor 1 is a vacuum discharge caused by secondary electron avalanche within powerful microwave devices for manifold radio-frequency applications. Especially for the aerospace community, multipactor discharge is commonly thought as the primary failure mode of the spaceborne microwave devices. Due to the produced electron cloud, multipactor may generate unexpected harmonics, increase the system noise, and even engender irreversible instrument damage when the surface outgassing further provokes more dangerous gaseous discharge 2 .
