Abstract

In this paper a study of multi-objective based congestion management is carried out by generator rescheduling with considering generator fuels cost. The power generation in the system needs to be maintained taking into account the power system cost effective and efficient operation. For evaluating the problem of congestion management, the operation of the system has to come across an equality and inequality constraints. The equality constraint is the power balance constraints in which the power generation should match the sum of load demand plus loss in the lines. The inequality constraints are those set of bounds like limit of real power generation, bus voltage limit of each generators, voltage operating limit of load bus. A Multi-objective based Particle Swarm Optimization algorithm is implemented to perform the optimization for elimination of congested line and minimizing the operation cost of the system.
