Abstract

Powder mixed electric discharge machining (PMEDM) is hybrid manufacturing process used in various industries for machining of advanced materials with complex profiles. PMEDM enhances the machining capabilities of the EDM process by mixing the conductive powder to the dielectric fluid. In this present work experimental design is performed using Taguchi L27 orthogonal array combined with grey relational analysis is used to determine the optimal set of process parameters for multi-objective responses on machining of titanium alloy. Pulse on time, peak current, pulse off time and concentration of graphite powder mixed in the dielectric medium are taken as input process parameters to analyze on the performance measures in terms of surface roughness and material removal rate
