Abstract

AbstractThe aim of paper is multi-objective optimization of powder mixed green-EDM parameters during machining of HcHcr steel using an integrated MCDM approach i.e., CRITIC with TOPSIS & CRITIC with GRA. Here, the CRITIC method is used for extraction of precise weights of the output while TOPSIS & GRA is used for optimization of the green EDM. Experimentation is performed based on Taguchi’s L18-(OA) by varying inputs i.e., polarity (P), Cp, Ton, Toff & PC and corresponding outputs i.e., MRR, TWR and SR that are determined. The result shows that, optimal parameter setting obtained via. CRITIC-TOPSIS is P as reverse; Cp as 6amp; Ton as 100 µs; Toff as 90 µs and PC as 0 g/L and via. CRITIC-GRA is P as reverse; Cp as 9amp; Ton as 100 µs; Toff as 30 µs and PC as 8 g/L. In addition, parametric analysis and ANOVA are performed to determine the significance of input parameters on the outputs. The result shows that, the Cp and interaction of Cp and Ton are more significant on MRR, TWR and SR. The % contributions are 65.33% as Cp and 8.92% as interaction of Cp and Ton for MRR, 65.33% as Cp and 8.92% as interaction of Cp and Ton for TWR and 32.44% as Cp and 816.71% as Cp and interaction Ton for SR, respectively.KeywordsGreen-EDMTaguchi methodTOPSISGRACRITICANOVAOptimization
