Abstract

This paper presents the modeling and operation planning of microgrid. The multi-objective optimization of microgrid operation is done in the form of eight scenarios in the presence of renewable energies, diesel generators, battery energy storage system, and demand response (DR) programs. The DR programs used in this paper include various incentive-based and time-based programs with the power model, which is the most non-conservative nonlinear DR model. The Monte Carlo simulation is used to predict solar irradiance and wind speed. At the end of the study, the results of simulation scenarios are compared with each other, the effects of DR programs on microgrid operation are discussed and the best DR program is chosen.
