Abstract

This paper describes a multiobjective optimization design technique for a six-phase copper rotor induction motor mounted with a scroll compressor to achieve minimum manufacturing cost and starting current, and maximum efficiency and power factor. The proposed algorithm uses the modified particle swarm optimization and the Taguchi method with finite-element analysis. The experimental results confirm the validity of the proposed method.
