Abstract
This work deals with the multi-objective design optimization of NBTTL mechanism. The needle jerk (NJ) and the maximum angular velocity ratio (MAVR) are minimized simultaneously. The goal is to minimize the machine input torque and vibration. The multi-objective imperialistic competitive algorithm (MOICA) is used to find the optimal link lengths of the NBTTL mechanism. Compared to Juki 8700, the obtained results show that the optimized mechanism can reduce the MAVR by 80 % and the NJ by 70 %.
