Abstract

The rapid growth of mobile users demands communication channels with good strength. To meet the demand the base stations are to be modeled with mm-wave antenna capable of radiating in a desired direction. This paper presents pattern synthesis of antenna array to radiate in the desired direction using optimization algorithm. Teaching Learning-Based Optimization (TLBO) is adapted to smart antenna synthesis for steering of main lobe of an array toward the desired direction. The synthesis of array is done using MATLAB. In this paper, the simulation results of TLBO are compared with Differential Evolution (DE) and Harmony Search algorithm (HS). Results show that TLBO gives better results than DE in many cases. The comparison of patterns for various cases for these algorithms is done in this paper.
