Abstract

A model system of two electronic states coupled by displaced totally symmetric and non-totally symmetric modes is analysed. It is shown that anharmonic interactions between the totally symmetric modes and even overtones of the non-totally symmetric modes are induced by vibronic interactions. The mixed vibronic eigenstates and the corresponding Franck-Condon factors to the electronic ground state are evaluated.
