Abstract
AbstractA multimode rate equation analysis of the semiconductor laser including the effects of nonlinear gain is presented. A large signal equivalent circuit model is used to determine the response of the laser. The analysis has been applied to the direct intensity modulation of individual longitudinal modes as well as to the transient response of the laser under different excitation schemes.
