Abstract

The meaning of Multi-modality cancer therapy is a serious types of cancer therapy which are able to promote the treatment of cancer through eliminating tumor cells from each other are combined together to enhance the killing effects. By this way, it not only maximizes the ability to eliminate cancer cells, but also minimizes the toxicity or trauma to human body. Polydopamine nanoparticles (PDA NPs) was chosen as the nanoplatform and cisplatin was chosen as the anti-cancer drug in this project. Firstly, the surface of PDA NPs is full of catechol function groups, which allow PDA NPs combined with cisplatin by chelate reaction, making PDA NPs as a high-efficiency drug delivery platform. Besides, PDA NPs is a great photothermal material which could heavily absorb the near infrared light to produce heat. This is how PDA NPs play a role in photothermal cancer therapy. What more, as a kind of radiosensitive drug, cisplatin could kill cancer cells by chemotherapy and enhance the killing effects of X-ray radiation at the same time.
