Abstract

The case of Anxious Ashley will be used to illustrate a multimodal (BASIC I.D.) therapeutic journey. The modes will be rank-ordered and interventions started in the affective zone (i.e., relaxation and self-hypnosis training, madness management procedures, and fun training). In the second-ordered zone of interpersonal relationships, he will experience friendship training, video and bibliotherapy, and winning ways. In the third area (sensation), visual and auditory skills will be used to enhance subject matter content (i.e., reading and math). For behavioral concerns contracting, game playing skills and bibliotherapy regarding stealing will be utilized. In the fifth zone of cognition, he will be trained in restructuring perspectives and taught problem solving skills. For imagery, he will learn about the IALAC procedure and heroes.
