Abstract

Inappropriate methodology or inefficient usage of teaching tools in the process of delivering lectures to practising electrical engineers can impair the process of learning, obscuring the conceptualization of subject's fundamentals and hasten the growth of boredom in lecture theater because these engineers are not tuned to listening long hours of lectures. As a result the basic aim of educating those engineers in an organised continuing education programme becomes a failure. Institute of High Voltage and High Current (IVAT) had conducted two short-courses (Electrical Discharges and Electrical Earthing) in the effort to educate practising electrical engineers and multi-media instructions were incorporated to enhance learning. So this paper focuses on various concepts of multi-media instructions in the effort to achieve improvement in learning and understanding of high voltage phenomena. The comment from the participants about the effects of multi-media method of instruction through questionnaire is also presented. >
