Abstract

Abstract This paper describes work which is being carried out as part of a remote language teaching research investigation (called the ReLaTe project), which is looking into the use of multi‐cast, multimedia conferencing over SuperJANET. ReLaTe is a joint project between the University of Exeter and University College, London, which is being funded by BT as part of the BT/JISC SuperJANET research initiative. The fundamental idea is to investigate the feasibility of sharing language teaching resources between uni‐versities within the UK, by making use of the broadband SuperJANET SMDS service.
