Abstract

Any control or optimization study of the FCC unit requires a process model which captures the major effects and interactions taking place in the unit. In this paper, the Dynamic behavior of the Simulated model (includes four lump Yield model to describe cracking kinetics) for the entire catalytic cracking unit of Petroleum Industry is analysed where the reactor riser is treated as an adiabatic plug flow reactor. A suitable controller is designed for this complex Industrial Process for the control of Reactor and Regenerator Temperature. The plugged Yield model is helpful in estimating the weight fraction of gasoline and other hydrocarbon products which is highly influenced by the variations in Reactor and Regenerator Temperature.
