Abstract
A multilevel coding technique is combined with full-diversity, full-rate super-orthogonal space-time trellis codes (SOSTTC) for two-transmit, two-receive antenna systems transmitting over fast Rayleigh fading channels. The proposed scheme provides high coding gains compared to the classic SOSTTC. New multilevel SOSTTC systems for BPSK modulation are designed and their error performance improvements are verified by computer simulations. The design method can be applied to more than two transmit and two receive antennas.
