Abstract

This paper describes a multilevel plane wave time domain (PWTD)-enhanced and marching-on-in-time (MOT)-based combined field integral equation (CFIE) solver for analyzing electromagnetic scattering from closed perfect electrically conducting (PEC) objects that reside in lossy media. The paper focuses on the construction of an easily discretized time domain CFIE for lossy media, and the incorporation of a lossy medium magnetic field PWTD kernel into the MOT framework. The proposed CFIE solver constitutes a key building block of time domain simulators for analyzing scattering from closed PEC objects buried in a lossy half space and a variety of optical components
