Abstract
Dyes are highly applicable in different industrial fields, while they are known for their carcinogenic impact and mutation of the human body. So, the achievement of dye removal from the aquatic system is a subject of major interest. In this research paper, a microwave adsorptive color removal technique in presence of multifunctional nanocomposite of graphene oxide-nanopolyaniline-zirconium silicate (GO@NPANI@ZrSiO4) was studied to isolate two different dyes, crystal violet (CV, cationic dye) and reactive black 5 (RB5, anionic dye) from aqueous medium by surface adsorption under microwave irradiation technique. Evaluation and optimization of the removal efficiency of CV and RB5 dyes onto GO@NPANI@ZrSiO4 in presence of key experimental controlling parameters was the focus in this study. The microwave adsorptive dye removal of cationic dye (CV) and anionic dye (RB5) was accomplished in very short time periods (5–20 s). The kinetic study and adsorption isotherm models were authenticated to figure out the possible binding mechanisms of CV and RB5 dyes onto GO@NPANI@ZrSiO4 according to the modes of surface binding. Excellent maximum microwave adsorptive color removal values of CV and RB5 dyes were achieved (92.11–97.13%) by GO@NPANI@ZrSiO4 from the studied three water samples. The assembled GO@NPANI@ZrSiO4 was structurally confirmed on the basis of using different characterization techniques like FT-IR, SEM, TEM, XRD, TGA, and BET.
