Abstract

This work describes the preparation, characterization and properties of multifunctional nanocomposite materials obtained from the combination of natural rubber latex (NR), and four different carbon nanostructures: carbon nanotubes (NTC), nanografite (NanoG) graphene oxide (GO) and reduced graphene oxide (rGO). The effect of the inherent characteristics of each nanostructure in the morphology and properties of natural rubber is discussed. The dispersion and good adhesion of all nanostructures in the polymeric matrix were confirmed by SEM images, resulting in multifunctional materials with new electrical, mechanical and chemical properties, modulated according to the specificity of the nanocarbon.
