Abstract

The multifractality property of many complex networks have been investigated. However, existing researches mainly revealed the multifractality of unweighted networks. In this paper, the algorithm for the generalized dimension of weighted networks is proposed. The box-covering algorithm for fractal dimension of weighted networks (BCANw) is modified in the proposed method. The new method is applied to calculate the generalized dimensions of some real networks. The numerical results indicate that the proposed method is efficient for analysis multifractal property of weighted networks. In addition, the proposed method can also involve multifractal property of unweighted networks.
