Abstract

To the Editor: Since the introduction of the term multifocal motor neuropathy (MMN) in 1988, this disorder has been the subject of substantial research and 152 publications. One debate has concerned sensory deficits in MMN, as raised by Van den Berg–Vos et al.’s paper.1 Some have begun to expand the definition of MMN by including patients with “minor” but definite sensory deficits among cases of MMN.2 They claim that there are no substantial differences between MMN and “MMN with definite sensory deficits.” To me, it is unreasonable to label MMN cases with sensory deficits as MMN.
