Abstract

YCrO3 thin films were deposited on Pt/Ta/glass substrates by pulsed laser deposition. X-ray diffraction experiments revealed that the YCrO3 thin films were polycrystalline. The ferroelectric polarization of polycrystalline YCrO3 thin films on glass substrate was smaller than that of polycrystalline YCrO3 thin films on single crystalline Rh substrate. However, the ferromagnetism of YCrO3 thin films on glass substrate was better than that of YCrO3 thin films on the Rh substrate. The ferroelectric switching speed of the YCrO3 thin films on glass substrate was faster than that of YCrO3 thin films on Rh substrate. Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) and Piezoelectric Force Microscopy (PFM) image showed the surface morphology and ferroelectric domain structure in YCrO3 thin films respectively.
