Abstract

Background Neonatal transport involves high risk clinical scenarios and requires a skilled team that can quickly assess situations and communicate effectively. Nearly 40% of our admissions are transports from suburban and rural areas. We provide air and ground transport for neonates with a wide variety of medical problems. Per “Guidelines for Air and Ground Transport of Neonatal and Pediatric Patients” adequate understanding of each team member’s role can improve communication and teamwork, thereby improving efficiency and safety.
