Abstract

Effective manual-handling strategies will not only help prevent vulnerable skin from becoming exposed to pressure, shear and friction, but also safeguard nurses from injury. Despite this, manual handling advisers and tissue viability nurses generally have very little contact with each other. This supplement describes how such a collaboration in a NHS trust improved pressure-care outcomes
