Abstract

A major research within the multicriteria decision method field is focused on ranking the alternatives. Technique for order preference by similarity degree to ideal solution method is one of the methods for ranking the alternatives . The similarity degree is based on the distances of the alternative versus the two ideal solutions: positive ideal solution and negative ideal solution. This paper introduces a new distance between alternatives based on the preference structure induced by the ELECTRE method. With the new kind of distance, we can derive the two distances between the alternative and the two ideal alternatives respectively and the similarity degree between the alternative and the positive ideal solutions. And then the alternatives are ranked according to the similarity degree. Finally, a numerical example will be treated to illustrate the method.
