Abstract

The particularities of optimization of cascades for the separation of multicomponent mixtures of isotopes according to the criterion of minimum total feed flow of the steps are examined. It is shown on the basis of a computational experiment that optimal cascades have high efficiency indices, which is expressed in the fact that the efficiency and separative power utilization indices are close to 100%. These cascades can be calculated for any concentration of the target isotope. They are mixing cascades with respect to the absolute and relative concentration of the components. However, in most cases it is possible to find a close to optimal R cascade which will differ little in terms of the total flow and concentration of all components.
