Abstract

A multichannel spatial encoding and extraction technique is demonstrated for laser-based experimental applications. The technique makes use of a multichannel beam chopper to encode spatial information onto the transverse profile of a laser beam. Lock-in detection is subsequently employed in a parallel processing algorithm to extract the encoded experimental spatial information. The technique is demonstrated with an optical system incorporating ten parallel frequency channels.
