Abstract

An original concept of building a multi-channel receiving modules of the C-band active phased array antenna (APAA) for on-board and ground-based communication systems and radar is presented. Construction of multipath receiving APAA is impossible without solving the problem of building multi-channel receiver modules. The number of beams in the system determines the number of phase shifters involved in each receiving channel, and corresponds to the number of the module outputs. The block diagram of the multi-channel receiver module for multi beam APAA is displayed. All active blocks are fabricated by using of GaAs technology. 1dBCP of low noise amplifier is 6 dB, 3bit phase shifter allows to get phase precision better than 1 degree, channel phase time establishment is not more than 2 ns, channel isolation is better than 35 dBc at 300 MHz offset.
