Abstract

In a few years, multichannel receivers have been developed particularly for mobile radiocommunications, such as the GSM system, to improve the reception performance in the presence of both inter-symbol interference (ISI) and co-channel interference (CCI). Two powerful training sequence-based multichannel receivers have been proposed and patented by Thomson-CSF-Communications for radiocommunications applications. This paper presents a performance comparison of these two receivers in the presence of ISI and CCI. The GSM uplink is analysed.
