Abstract

E-waste has become one of the focuses of social concern and research topic, not only for its tremendous amount, but also for its negative environment influence. Under Extended Producer Responsibility, the manufacturer plays an important role in the reverse supply chain which it participates in. And the implementation effects of business models of these reverse supply chains are various. By the method of multi-case study, this paper focuses on business model of reverse supply chain in electronics industry. Five business cases on EPR practices implemented by electronics manufacturers within their reverse supply chains are identified and analyzed in this research. Several types of representative business models are identified, and the advantages and disadvantages of these business models are also explored. Focusing on the electronics industry, this research aims to provide operation suggestions on the business model of reverse supply chain for the construction and management of reverse supply chain under EPR.
