Abstract
Transmission and reception techniques for a multi-antenna wireless base station (WBS) operating in a TD/CDMA communications system are developed and examined power-efficient provision of radio coverage, a low interference contribution and compatibility considerations of the WBS to standard mobile stations (MS) are of special interest. A generalized TD/CDMA system model is introduced, which allows the description of single- and multi-antenna transmitters and receivers and can be parameterized with different transmission techniques. Link-level simulations of different WBS uplink (UL) and downlink (DL) connections are used to identify the most suitable WBS transmission and reception techniques.
