Abstract

A new dimethylamino-substituted anthracylhydrazone derivative AHY was synthesized and its multi-stimuli responsive property and photopatterning behavior were studied. AHY showed mechanofluorochromic behavior, accompanied by emission color from green to yellow upon grinding. Secondly, significant acidochromism was observed for AHY film, i.e. from yellow to orange under natural light. In addition, the original green fluorescence could be quenched upon treatment by TFA. Furthermore, the photoluminescence quenching phenomenon and photopatterning of AHY film were attributed to the trans-cis isomerization of –CN- upon photo-irradiation.
