Abstract

In order to examine the applicability of the multi spur model to the experimental data which were measured by a stroboscopic pulse radiolysis, the multi spur effect on the decay kinetics of geminate ion recombination was studied using Monte Carlo technique. Although it has been reported that free ion yields are significantly affected by multi spur effects, the decay curves of multi spur model were almost same as that of single spur with parameters such as an exponential distribution function. The result of the comparison is discussed in terms of the dependence of cation–cation distance, cation–electron distance and an initial distribution function on the decay kinetics. The dependence of initial configuration of multi ion pairs is also discussed.
