Abstract
Abstract Aqueous dipeptides are bound to two-component monolayers which contain oligopeptide polar units together with benzoic acid or pyridine head groups. Binding of guest dipeptides to the mixed monolayers depends specifically on the nature of interfacial cavities which can be controlled by combination of polar head groups. The binding ratio is lessened with increasing sizes of the side chain of the Y residue in the Gly-Y dipeptide moiety of the host amphiphiles.
