Abstract

In this research work, development of a multi response assessment technique was considered using Fuzzy matter element methodology for material removal rate(MRR) and surface roughness(SR) of milling on CNC Vertical Machining Set up. EN19 alloy steel was selected as work material for experimentation. Material removal rate (MRR) and surface roughness (SR) were investigated in milling operation after varying the level statistically of cutting speed, depth of cut and feed rate. Two types of milling cutters (titanium nitride coated carbide and solid carbide end mill) were selected to do the operation. Fuzzy matter element methodology was found to be successful to select the best tool for this experiment.
