Abstract

This study aims to investigate the mechanical properties of glass-carbon fiber and durian skin fiber (DSF)-reinforced poly(lactic acid) (PLA), namely tensile strength, impact strength, and hardness of the hybrid composite. The mixture design response surface methodology was used to plan the experiments, and the response surface methodology (RSM) established mathematical relationships between the proportion of components and the desired responses. The fracture surface morphologies of the composites were qualitatively evaluated using scanning electron microscopy. Multi-objective optimization was performed to determine the optimal proportion of the components. The validation test results indicated that the actual values were in good agreement with the predicted values.
