Abstract

To improve the output torque of coaxial magnetic gears, a novel coaxial magnetic gear (CMG) with high temperature superconducting (HTS) bulks and uneven Halbach arrays is proposed in this paper. The convex structure is used in the middle of inner rotor permanent magnets (PMs). The PMs of the outer rotor are arranged in a low-high-low arrangement, epoxy resin is added between the PMs of outer rotor and the outer iron yoke. At the same time, the HTS bulks replace the epoxy resin to reduce magnetic flux leakage. In addition, according to the sensitivity analysis, the structural parameters can be divided into different levels, the multi-objective optimization analysis is carried out. Finally, the optimal CMG topology with 4 inner and 17 outer pole pairs is established. The results show that the amount of PM is reduced and the output torque is effectively increased by finite element analysis (FEA).
