Abstract

The central interest of this paper is addressed to the coordination problems of the attainment of multiple goals involved in the planning of public works and the development of methodology for finding well-balanced attainment of the conflicting goals. To demonstrate how this methodology should be used, two illustrative applications will be presented. The first study presents two multi-objective traffic assignment models, based on goal programming and multi-parametric programming. The second study develops a multi-objective, two-level system model for water resource management planning utilizing goal programming and parametric programming.
