Abstract

In this paper, a multi-loop compound controller is realized and applied to improve the load torque performance in the load test bench. The mathematical models of the load Permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) and loaded rudder are presented with the coupled dynamics of load torque. The proposed controller consists of the rudder position, velocity control and torque control considering sensor signal processing with the noise rejection. Transfer functions and the tuning of the proposed controller are also described. Numerical simulation and experimental results are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed controller.
