Abstract

The article analyses the correlations between the two rural religious sites – Akyazılı Baba Tekke (village of Obrochishte) and ‘St. Dimitar’ church (village of Gurkovo) in Northeast Bulgaria – and the multi-local actors of change that contribute to the transformation of local communities’ traditions and the emergence of new everyday practices. It is based on historical-ethnological research carried out in May 2022 that builds on earlier periodic observations.
