Abstract

AbstractWe compute resonant modes in axisymmetric radio frequency cavities by solving a few generalized eigenvalue problems using the symmetric Jacobi–Davidson algorithm. In particular, we focus on the parallelization and the use of the multi‐level preconditioner for the correction equation. Additionally, we compute eigenvector approximations using the solutions of the problem on a coarser mesh and present the results on the problem of computing a few lowest modes of a real‐world cavity.
