Abstract

In this paper a novel interleaved DC-DC converter is proposed with multiple legs connected at the front end of the inverter. The DC-DC converter can establish adjustable and boosted DC-link voltage for the motor drive to enhance its high-speed driving performance. The inverter drives a IPMSM used in a hybrid electric vehicle with sinusoidal PWM technique. The regular two leg DC-DC converter is modified with extra leg for reliable operation during failure of any power electronic switch in the converter. The complete analysis and graphical representations are provided using MATLAB software with dynamic change with respect to time. Driving performance is improved by Dc link voltage boosting and commutation instant tuning.
