Abstract

A high strength and toughness Zn-Mg-Mn alloy with ultimate tensile strength of 358MPa and fracture elongation of 23.5% was successfully prepared by 12-pass equal channel angular pressing. The multi-interactions between dislocations and refined microstructure including grain boundaries, eutectic structure, MnZn13 particles and dislocation arrays contributed to strengthening of the alloy.
